first time, we’re doing an episode in English since my guest
today is originally from the UK. We discuss how 13 comes up with
these brilliant concepts for the performances and what it’s like
to be a person of color in a white-majority area.

HIS DARK MATERIALS

The English novelist Philip Pullman published his fantasy trilogy
in the 90s. It consists of three novels; ‘Northern Lights’ (aka
‘The Golden Compass’), ‘The Subtle Knife’ and ‘The Amber
Spyglass’.

DRAG LAB

Drag artists Metamorkid and Dopa Mania founded an open stage for
queer performers in 2021. It took place at Club Celeste, at
Schikaneder, and at Spektakel.

ARCHETYPES

The concept of an archetype appears in areas relating to
behavior, historical psychology, and literary analysis.

TAROT

Tarot is a form of cartomancy whereby practitioners use tarot
cards to gain insight into the past, present or future. The Fool
is one of these cards.

TUCK TAPE / DUCT TAPE

Tuck Tape is made of a polypropylene film and coated with a
high-tack solvent-based acrylic adhesive. It is mainly applied
for the sealing of joints.

RAVE

A rave is a dance party where usually electronic dance music is
played. Raves are often associated with the use of illegal drugs
such as MDMA, LDS, cocaine, and ketamine.

ILLUMINAUGHTY

Since 2006 the Illuminaughty rave party has been held in
Manchester, Leeds, London, and other cities in the UK.

ALIEN

The first Alien movie was released in 1979 and has many sequels
and crossover series. It was created by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald
Shusett.

CIS GENDER

It is a term used to describe a person whose gender identity
corresponds to the sex assigned at birth.

PERSON OF COLOR

The term person of color (POC) is primarily used to describe any
person who is not considered white.

RACISM

Racism means prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed
against other people because they are of a different race or
ethnicity.
