Miles goes electric: die „schwierigen“ Jahre 1969-75

Manche nennen es Fusion Jazz, andere Jazz-Rock. Wieder andere
„worthless music“. Was Miles Davis zwischen 1969 und 1975
aufnahm, sprengte die Vorstellungen davon, was Jazz ist. Miles
machte sich viele Feinde mit seiner „elektrischen“ Band. Die
Freunde kamen erst später. Diese Musik ist manisch, düster,
sperrig. Vor allem ist sie aber sehr funky! Als sich Miles Davis
gelangweilt (?) vom herkömmlichen akustischen Jazz abwandte,
konnten ihm zunächst nicht viele folgen. Aber diese Musik ist
vielleicht die spannendste, die er jemals aufgenommen hat.
Daneben verblasst „Kind of Blue“ zum Schmusejazz.
