Excessive monetary growth caused the spike in inflation. Will too
aggressive tightening push the economy in recession?

In the 139th edition of „bto 2.0 – der Ökonomie-Podcast mit Dr.
Daniel Stelter“ we feature the full interview with Professor Tim
Congdon, chairman of the Institute of International Monetary
Research at the University of Buckingham. In our conversation in
June last year (episode 84) Professor Congdon predicted the high
inflation in the USA, the UK and the Eurozone. Now he fears,
central banks are committing a second mistake in pushing the
economies into recession. His appeal: we have to return to a
policy of steady monetary growth.
