David Shillinglaw is a fascinating young artist from England, and a
household name in the New Contemporary Art Movement. He has been
showing with the heliumcowboy gallery since Jörg invited him to
join the Millerntor Gallery in 2013, a social charity exhibition by
Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli in the Stadium of the Football club FC
St. Pauli, that Jörg supported as the artistic director that year.
David visited Hamburg to release a print edition with Viva con
Agua, and he came around to the heliumTALK studio in the gallery to
talk with Jörg about artists supporting charities in general, his
work and the meaning of language as part of it, the times we live
in, and well, the two even get to include Brexit and Hitler in a
slightly off-excursion somewhere in the middle of this
conversation.
