Elena Semino: Metaphor Menus

Elena Semino is the Professor of Linguistics and Verbal Art at
Lancaster University and the director of the ERCS center for
corpus approaches to social science. In this podcast, we are
exploring how metaphors can limit and extend possibilities for
coaches and clients and draw on Elena’s work creating “metaphor
menus” for people experiencing cancer as the dominant metaphor of
“fighting cancer” is not suitable for everyone – in a fight there
