Space Oddity

En esta edición de la serie de podcast del Centro Colaborativo de Investigación 1265 «Re-Figuration of Spaces», con sede en la Technische Universität Berlin, se aborda la cuestión de tiempo-espacio en la teoría social. Para enriquecer la conversación, dos investigadorxs invitadxs, Agustina Frisch (Universidad de Buenos Aires) y Felipe Torres (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile), comparten valiosos aportes sustentados en sus actuales investigaciones, bajo la moderación de Ignacio Castillo (Technische Universität Berlin). Mientras Agustina Frisch señala aspectos de carácter más empírico, derivados de su trabajo de campo etnográfico en torno a las formas urbanas que se despliegan y se intersecan en ese difuso espacio-tiempo que se suspende entre lo rural y lo urbano, Felipe Torres orienta el diálogo hacia una dimensión más retórica, centrada en la polivalencia semántica del tiempo (y su contraparte, el espacio). Como todo intercambio sustantivo, el juego de ping-pong que nuestrxs investigadorxs invitadxs desarrollan no pretende zanjar la cuestión de manera definitiva, sino abrir un debate que requiere de otras miradas y saberes. El episodio cierra con algunas reflexiones en torno a la propia actividad de investigación: por qué investigamos, para qué lo hacemos y cómo construimos conocimiento a través de la investigación.

In this podcast episode, Eva Korte (PhD candidate, TU Berlin), Judith Keller (postdoctoral researcher, HU Berlin), and Khushboo Jain (PhD candidate, FAU Nürnberg-Erlangen) are in conversation with Michele Lancione (Politecnico di Torino), exploring his idea of a “liberatory politics of home,” which he outlined in his latest book. The episode was recorded as part of a workshop on different ideas and ideal of home, which explored the spatial politics and practices surrounding home research. Reflecting on the intricacies and the emotional labor involved in doing home research, the conversation with Michele Lancione helps to work through and reflect on issues such as research practice, fieldwork, positionality, and the political implications of our work.
