TPM024 - Wahl des Betriebssystems
Jeder Computer benötigt es: ein Betriebssystem. Doch nicht nur bei neuen Geräten besteht die Qual der Wahl. Auch ältere Notebooks können entweder mit zeitgenössischen Betriebssystemen oder aktuellen Linux-Distributionen und spannenden Nischenbetriebssystemen verwendet werden. Bei Linux entscheidet vor allem die Auswahl des Desktops und der Anwendungsprogramme über die Schwuppdizität.
Lenovo übernimmt den BIOS-Hersteller Phoenix Technologies und mit der Ploopy Bean taucht eine besondere Maus mit integriertem TrackPoint auf. Shownotes News

TPM023 - News: MWC 2026 und weitere neue Modelle
Lenovo hat auf dem MWC 2026 neben einem Designkonzept auch mehrere neue ThinkPads vorgestellt: neben dem T14 Gen 6, T14s Gen 7 und T16 Gen 5 wurden auch das T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 und X13 Detachable vorgestellt. Im Internet tauchte parallel unerwartet ein neues Modell mit dem Namen X14 auf.
Auch nach der Konferenz wurden weitere neue T-, P-, X- und L-Modelle vorgestellt - bei einem wird erstmalig der Tastenhub wieder erhöht. Das T14 Gen 6 AMD schneidet im ersten Test gut ab. Ein experimentelles Notebookgehäuse mit zweitem Display erinnert an ein früheres W-Modell. Shownotes Feedback und Ankündigungen

Lenovo hat auf dem MWC 2026 neben einem Designkonzept auch mehrere neue ThinkPads vorgestellt: neben dem T14 Gen 6, T14s Gen 7 und T16 Gen 5 wurden auch das T14s 2-in-1 Gen 2 und X13 Detachable vorgestellt. Im Internet tauchte parallel unerwartet ein neues Modell mit dem Namen X14 auf.
Auch nach der Konferenz wurden weitere neue T-, P-, X- und L-Modelle vorgestellt - bei einem wird erstmalig der Tastenhub wieder erhöht. Das T14 Gen 6 AMD schneidet im ersten Test gut ab. TPM022 - ThinkPads in Filmen und Serien (feat. Teleprost)
Computer tauchen schon lange in Filmen und Serien auf - sogar in manchen Operninszenierungen sind die Geräte Bestandteil der Requisite. Neben Lifestyle-Geräten können gelegentlich sogar ThinkPads begutachtet werden. Zusammen mit Frank und Hannes vom Teleprost-Podcast erarbeiten wir uns anhand einiger Beispiele die Beweggründe hierfür. We’re kicking off the year 2026 with the most important ThinkPad Lenovo has probably ever built: the X300. It is the first notebook that Lenovo designed from scratch after acquiring IBM’s notebook divison in 2005. Together with Thomas Rogers, best known for his YouTube channel Laptop Retrospective, we’ll deep dive into the device history including its design phase and prototype.

TPM020 - Docking Stationen
Docking Stationen waren früher ein Feature, welches Business-Geräte von Consumer-Hardware differenzierte. Seit 1992 wurden über 100 solcher Erweiterungen produziert - mit teils sehr unterschiedlichen Konzepten. Neben simplen Port Replicatoren gab es auch wuchtige Gehäuse, die Notebooks zu vollwertigen PCs machten.
Qualcomm hat ein neues ARM-SoC vorgestellt, während es weiterhin schlecht um den Linux-Support des X1E steht. Erste Testberichte der AMD ThinkPads T14 Gen 6 und T16 Gen 4 sind aufgetaucht, während Windows 1.0 und der Intel Pentium 4-Prozessor Jubiläen feiern. Docking Stationen waren früher ein Feature, welches Business-Geräte von Consumer-Hardware differenzierte. Seit 1992 wurden über 100 solcher Erweiterungen produziert - mit teils sehr unterschiedlichen Konzepten. Neben simplen Port Replicatoren gab es auch wuchtige Gehäuse, die Notebooks zu vollwertigen PCs machten.
Qualcomm hat ein neues ARM-SoC vorgestellt, während es weiterhin schlecht um den Linux-Support des X1E steht. Erste Testberichte der AMD ThinkPads T14 Gen 6 und T16 Gen 4 sind aufgetaucht, während Windows 1.0 und der Intel Pentium 4-Prozessor Jubiläen feiern.
