This story will take us to Hamilton, Ontario in the time surrounding new year's day 2022. 23 year old mother of two Emily Bailey is juggling mental health struggles and addition while living a life resembling something between homelessness and couch surfing. Despite the instability of her lifestyle, Emily was reliable. She posted regularly to social media and had scheduled visits with her children that she would NEVER miss. But she did miss one in January and very quickly it was determined that no one had seen or heard from her in over a week. Now, over 4 months later, no sign of Emily has surfaced and given the transience of her life even the trail leading up to her disappearance is filled with mystery... obscured by conflicting statements of the unreliable witnesses of her last known days. All we know for certain is that her family is desperate to find her as well as the answers to the many questions associated with her disappearance. In this episode we hear from one of the broken hearted loved ones left behind. I'll be joined by Lori Bevan, Emily's mom, to discuss the still unexplained disappearance of her 23 year old daughter. Then 26 year old civil engineer Andrew Gnazdowsky and a co-worker were on site completing a survey of a Nova Scotia Power dam near Sheet Harbour in October of 2020. When a technology failure disrupted their work, Andrew made the fateful decision to enter the water and collect a piece of equipment. Moments later, Andrew would yell for help before ultimately disappearing below the still water. In the year since Andrew's tragic death, the Gnazdowsky's have been steadfast in their belief that the investigation into Andrew's death has been flawed at best, completely compromised at worst, and it's not just a hunch that tells them that. Nearly every step of the way it seems that Andrew's number one advocate, his sister Nicole Gnazdowsky, has been uncovering the kind of details that make a public inquiry a logical outcome. Conflicts of interest, erroneous death records, the scrubbing online records, bureaucratic flip flopping, and opportunistic politicians... This story has all of it. In this episode of Nighttime we are going to be joined by Nicole Gnazdowsky and our topic is the search for answers and accountability related to the death of her brother Andrew Gnazdowsky. Our guest (who will have their voice altered and will be referred to simply as Jane) has a story that begins in Halifax, Nova Scotia, back when she was just 14 years old. A chance encounter, during an age and time of vulnerability, led her through experiences she is very fortunate to have survived. Thankfully, she did and she is willing to share her story with us in hopes that it shines a light on the surprisingly active child sex trade. Nova Scotia, April 18-19, 2020 Over a period of thirteen hours 51 year old denturist Gabriel Wortman, dressed as a police officer and driving a replica police car, carried out Canada’s most deadly act of mass murder. In this ongoing series Nighttime will explore the many elements of this tragic story. What happened, why it happened, and what could have been done to stop him. In this episode, I avoid the many rabbit holes and contested facts to present an abridged telling of the “official” version of the Nova Scotia Mass Shooting. Unexpectedly, but not completely surprisingly, I received an email from a very excited lady from Quebec who claimed to have filmed some odd objects hovering in the sky near her home. She didn’t believe they planes or helicopters… Belia was convinced she witnessed something very unique and she wanted my opinion on the footage she captured. The video (which I’ve since enhanced and added to the Nighttime YouTube Channel) shows several bright, slow moving objects, travelling above the Ottawa river. It stumped me right off the bat and that doesn’t usually happen. Perhaps that’s why I wanted to figure this one out and I’m gonna take you along for the journey. We are going to start by meeting Belia, the very excited lady who filmed the objects behind her home and then we will take the video, and her eye witness account to Celebrated Canadian UFO researcher Chris Rutkowski for an expert analysis. In this episode of nighttime, I’m going to be considering the Nov 20th UFO sighting above Luskville, Quebec Links: Watch Belia’s Video: https://youtu.be/0xf9z6XWGGg Join the UFOs Above Canada Discussion Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ufosabovecanada Report a Canadian UFO Sighting: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com/report-a-canadian-ufo-sighting Credits: Musical Theme - Noir Tokyo by Monty Datta Provide feedback and comments on the episode: nighttimepodcast.com/contact Nighttime Links: Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/nighttimepodcast Website: https://www.nighttimepodcast.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/NightTimePod Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NightTimePod Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nighttimepod Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/nighttimepod Premium Feed: https://www.patreon.com/Nighttimepodcast Learn more about your ad choices. Nothing brings life to the Halloween spirit like a good ghost story, and no one tells a ghost story like Steve Vernon. Longtime listeners will know Steve well. He's a favorite author of mine and has joined us several times in the past to share his unique style of storytelling. Just a few nights back, Steve and I ventured into one of Halifax's many forests for a night of storytelling. I brought my microphone, and Steve brought a flashlight and a book of his stories.
