Google has withdrawn from its advertising deal with Yahoo.
Where the move leaves Yahoo in terms of possible deals with other
companies, mainly Microsoft, is anyone's guess.
After several months of campaigning, mostly on the part of
Google's Free the Airwaves initiative, the FCC has approved the
use of white space in the TV spectrum for Wi-Fi.
Microsoft's new BizSpark program offers fledgling startups access
to a host of Microsoft applications and services. If your company
happens to use only Macs, you might want to avoid mentioning it
during the application process.
The FCC also made Verizon Wireless very happy this week by
approving the company's bid to buyout fellow service provider
Altell Wireless. The buyout will make Verizon the largest carrier
in the country, just ahead of AT&T.
In case you didn't know, Tuesday's presidential election was kind
of a big deal. So big in fact that Internet traffic to news sites
hit an all-time high.
With the help of a bunch of HD cameras, more than a dozen
computers and a fair amount of the Force, CNN successfully
debuted its impressive hologram technology during Tuesday night's
election coverage. The Blitzer is strong with this one.
Ever been in the middle of an excruciatingly boring or
uncomfortable conversation and wished someone would call you to
give you an excuse to get the hell out of there? Well, thanks to
the Fake Calls iPhone app, you'll never have to rely on your
friends to bail you out ever again.
