What happens after we die? Not as a philosophical question, but
as described in one of Hinduism's most sacred texts, the Garuda
Purana, spoken by Lord Vishnu himself. What happens to the soul
after death, and what awaits it on the journey beyond?

Nityanand Charan Das Ji returns to Supertalks to open the Garuda
Purana and take us through what the text says about death, the
soul and what comes after. A practising monk at Sri Sri Radha
Gopinath Temple, ISKCON Chowpatty, Mumbai, disciple of His
Holiness Radhanath Swami and bestselling author of A Monk's
Almanac, Icons of Grace, Ask the Monk, Bound by Love and SHIVA,
his discourses have reached audiences across 50+ countries.

This episode explores the subtle body formed after the soul
leaves, the Yamdoots who arrive from Yamlok, and the soul's
experience of witnessing its own funeral. We follow the 13-day
journey described in the Garuda Purana, including the Vaitarini
Lake, the arrival before Yamraj and the judgment that follows.

We also discuss the signs of death, what can be done for someone
on their deathbed, the descriptions of hell in the Vedic verses,
and what the text says about preparing spiritually during this
lifetime.

And then comes the simplest answer: the chanting of Krishna's
name.

physical world — and how we can prepare for what comes next.
