Viele Klimaaktionen fordern "System change, not climate change",
Menschen folgt?

The world on the abyss – How can the climate be saved? With Elisa
Baş and Martin Empson
We have long been heading toward ecological tipping points that,
once crossed, will be irreversible. Instead of fundamentally
changing the way we produce, the collapse is being
managed—through CO2 markets, “green growth,” and technological
pseudo-solutions.
Many climate actions call for “system change, not climate
change,” but concrete paths often remain unclear or end in
superficial reforms of the system.
In this event, climate activist Elisa Baş and Martin Empson,
member of the Socialist workers party, discuss a socialist
perspective: Why is capitalism structurally incapable of solving
the crisis? What role do the drive for profit, competition, and
imperialist exploitation play? And what could a society look like
that harmonizes production and nature and meets people's needs?
The event was recorded at the Zündfunke Congress on Marxist
theory and concrete practice (December 12-14, 2025) organized by
Socialism from Below.
