  4. Kristy Armstrong: Victim Blaming, Suicide and the Legacy of Domestic Violence - Part 2
He abused her for years. He demeaned her to his children. He
controlled her financially. He sent death threats. He acted the
doting dad and husband in public. And still they blame her. Her
name is Kristy Armstrong. She was only
36. Kristy's mum explains how hard it was for her daughter
to disclose what he was doing, the hurdles Kristy faced
when she reached out for support from domestic violence services,
the ongoing victim-blaming and what it's like to raise her
granddaughters. This episode discusses coercive control, domestic
violence, suicide and murder. It is not for children. This
is Kristy's story.

This season of She Matters is supported by
Verve Super, committed to women’s financial
security and standing against violence in all its forms. She
Matters is also proudly supported by Your One and Only

Women in Australia retire with 23% less super
than men — a real super gender gap. Our financial lives can be
complex, and many of us don’t know who to turn to for support in
a system not built with us in mind. That’s why
Verve created a community for women, men and
non-binary people who believe in closing the super gap.

Mein Archiv
