  3. She Matters: Women & Girls, Femicide & Gendered Violence Podcast
  4. Alison Doreen Perfect: Femicide, Coercive Control and a Murder Witnessed by Her Children - Part 1
She wanted to control her own life - for this, he murdered her -
in front of the children. Her name is Alison Doreen Perfect. She
was only 39.

When they took him to jail, Alison's children were placed in the
foster care system. Her daughter Donna-Leigh Perfect endured
deeply traumatic violence while in care - and when the killer was
released from jail, she was given an impossible choice.

Today, Donna-Leigh walks us through her Alison's far-too short
life, the impact of her father's decision to kill and how the
trauma of her destroyed childhood inspires her to make life
better for other children.

This episode has a graphic description of murder. It also
discusses domestic violence, rape and sexual violence, coercive
control and femicide. It is not safe for children.

This season of She Matters is supported by
Verve Super, committed to women’s financial
security and standing against violence in all its forms. She
Matters is also supported by Your One and Only.

Women in Australia retire with an average 23%
less retirement savings than men. That’s a real super gender
gap. Our financial lives can be quite complex, however many of us
don’t know who to turn to for support in a financial services
industry that wasn’t built with us in mind. That’s why we created
Verve a community for women, men & non-binary folk who
believe in our mission of closing the super gap.

Podcast-Folgen verschwinden.
