Join hosts Mira and Finn on an exciting time-travel adventure to
November 1823! We are heading to the town of Rugby in England to
solve a massive sports mystery: how did the game of rugby begin?
It all started during a totally normal game of schoolyard
football. Suddenly, a mischievous schoolboy named William Webb
Ellis did the unthinkable. Instead of kicking the ball with his
feet, he picked it up in his hands and started running with it!
Everyone thought he was just cheating, but guess what? His crazy
move stuck, and a brand-new sport was born! In this action-packed
episode of History's Not Boring, discover how William's broken
rule turned into a global smash hit played by millions! We'll
follow the sport as it spreads to Scotland, Wales, Ireland,
France, and South Africa. Plus, find out why the New Zealand All
Blacks perform an awesome, powerful dance called the Haka before
every single match! Grab your gear and learn all about the very
first Rugby World Cup, where players battled it out to win a
famous trophy named after that original rule-breaking kid!
