Did you know a simple scrubbing brush could save an entire army?!
Meet Florence Nightingale, a girl who gave up a life of fancy
mansions and dinner parties to become the most famous nurse in
history! In this thrilling episode of History's Not Boring, Mira
and Finn travel back to the 1850s to discover how Florence fought
an invisible enemy: hospital germs! When the Crimean War broke out,
Florence traveled to a giant, stinky army hospital filled with sick
soldiers, blocked sewers, and even giant rats! Eww! But Florence
wasn’t afraid. She demanded 200 scrubbing brushes and got to work
cleaning the filthy hospital from top to bottom! At night, she
walked four miles of dark, freezing corridors with her lantern to
comfort the wounded, earning her the legendary nickname "The Lady
with the Lamp." You'll also learn how she used super cool math and
colorful charts to prove cleanliness saves lives, changing
hospitals forever. Plus, find out about her adorable, grumpy pet
owl named Athena who lived right in her pocket! Grab your lantern
and let's dive into this amazing medical adventure!
