Om Namah Shivaya is Shiva's Panchakshara Mantra, the
five-syllable mantra. It is also known as Shiva Mahamantra. Shiva
literally means auspicious, benevolent. Shiva is also the cosmic
dancer Nataraj, the meditator, the renunciant, and more.

Om reverence to the Divine in its manifestation as Shiva, the
auspicious one.
