Jonathan Gilthorpe is a British neuroscientist but lives and
works as a research scientist and university teacher in Northern
Sweden. With over 30 years of research experience, he specializes
in how cells in the body experience and respond to stress,
particularly in neurodegenerative disease and in cancer. His
research delves into molecular and cellular pathways underlying
diseases like ALS, Alzheimer´s and Parkinson's disease, within a
broader framework of shared mechanisms involving metabolic and
mitochondrial dysfunction, protein aggregation and
neuroinflammation across neurodegenerative disorders. He has
published 70+ papers and is a recognized speaker in the field.
