Stage 16 of the Giro d'Italia 2026 and Jonas Vingegaard made it
four summit finishes from four. Bellinzona to Carì - just 113
kilometres but over 3,000 metres of climbing. Visma weren't giving
up control today. The break was kept on a tight leash, and when
Decathlon took over with 35km to go, the race was about to explode.
Piganzoli ripped the selection apart before Jonas even launched.
Pellizzari was dropped early. Ciccone, frustrated after another
miss in the break, sat up with 17km to go. And when Jonas went at
6.6km to go, nobody could follow. David Millar and Pete Kennaugh
