In an era where digital connections are omnipresent, an
increasing number of people across the world are feeling more
isolated than ever. This radio feature explores the paradox of
“digital loneliness” — how technology, while promising constant
connectivity, can also deepen feelings of solitude. Through
intimate interviews, expert insights, and real-life stories from
across Austria, the piece sheds light on a growing social
phenomenon that disproportionately affects the young and the
elderly alike.

For this years´ Europe on Air project join us on a journey
through different perspectives as individuals and communities
confront this invisible epidemic. What solutions exist? Can
virtual spaces ever replace real human contact? “Digital
Loneliness” is a moving and thought-provoking exploration of the
emotional cost of our digital lives.
