Does a "fake it till you make it" attitude toward life actually
work?

If one dark and cold night you found yourself lost in the woods
somewhere… Alone… Scared, afraid that you might never get out and
even die there…

Would you pull up your map and say to yourself: “It’s ok, I’m not
lost, it’s going to be alright… I just need to visualize myself
being in the Bahamas.”

“Fake it ‘till you make it” is the worst piece of advice in
Self-Improvement.

Pretending does not solve problems, taking action towards your
objective does.

If you’re lost in the woods (or your life) you have to pick up
the map, find out where you are currently, accept it and own up
to it, and then make a decision about where you want to go.
