From Viral Rib Joke to Opening for Matt Rife

n this episode of the Proper True Yarn Podcast, Knuckles welcomes
comedian Nick Capper for a fast-paced yarn about

just five people, Hamo’s Facebook post — fuelled by listeners and
locals — brought dairy farmers straight from the milking shed,
boots on and all, to a heaving comedy crowd. The Shepp gig ended
in a classic country night out, complete with stories about dodgy
strip clubs, inventive electricians dimming the lights for the
dancers, and the unique party energy of rural Australia.


Nick then talks about opening for US comedy star Matt
Rife — a connection born from a viral bit about the
urban myth of Marilyn Manson and Prince removing ribs to perform
a certain act on themselves. Rife saw the joke back when he had
only 30k followers, promised to work with Nick if he ever toured
Australia, and followed through once his fame exploded into the
millions.


Throughout, Knuckles and Nick riff relentlessly — from
