call-up, juggling training around real life, and learning how to
talk shit for promotion, all the way to walking out in headgear
to Smash Mouth in front of 5,000 screaming punters.


Gocsy breaks down the nerves of being booed on entry, the blur of
the bout, the dodgy ref with the rat’s tail trying to keep his
opponent on his feet, and the exact moment he realised he’d
actually got the win. We yarn about using the crowd’s hate as
fuel, fighting as a dad with his daughter in the crowd, comparing
a boxing high to landing a killer joke on stage, and why that one
sweet victory now has him itching to glove up again.
