A new report by the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation
(CMHC) says Vancouver saw a decline in the construction of
multiplexes and townhomes in recent years, compared to other
major Canadian cities. The report calls this type of housing the
"missing middle," referring to middle-density housing that
includes townhouses, row homes and low-rise apartments. CMHC
deputy chief economist Tania Bourassa-Ochoa joins the show to
break down the report. Former Vancouver city councillor Gordon
Price joins the show as we ask viewers if they feel more middle
density housing is needed in their community.
