Gold has punched through the $3,700 mark, lifted by a softer US
dollar and rising hopes for rate cuts. At the same time, the euro
is surging toward $1.20, easing import costs but turning the screw
on Europe’s exporters. Two tides, one message: pricing power is
shifting in favor of buyers while margins at global manufacturers
get tighter.

In aviation, Airbus is staring at a stubborn engine shortage.
Around 70 finished jets are parked and waiting, putting the
820-delivery target at risk. Over at Lufthansa, former Eon chief
Johannes Teyssen is set to chair the supervisory board—governance
change in a sector still rebuilding its resilience.

Deal talk in heavy industry: Thyssen-Krupp is weighing a

million to extract nickel with engineered
