ESA inaugurates deep space antenna in Western Australia - ESA weiht Weltraumantenne in Westaustralien ein

Last Saturday, the European Space Agency ESA officially inaugurated
its fourth deep space antenna, the New Norcia 3, in a small
monastery town in Western Australia. We spoke to ESA's Head of
Ground Station Engineering, Mehran Sarkarati, about how this
antenna will improve the communication with space missions in the
solar system and if it could actually enable a phone call with
Mars. - Am vergangenen Wochenende wurde in einer kleinen
Klosterstadt in Westaustralien Weltraumgeschichte geschrieben. Die
Europäische Weltraumorganisation ESA hat am Samstag in New Norcia,
etwa 120 Kilometer nördlich von Perth, offiziell ihre vierte
Weltraumantenne eingeweiht, die New Norcia 3, oder auch NNO-3
genannt. Wie diese Antenne die Kommunikation mit Raumfahrzeugen im
Sonnensystem verbessern soll und ob sie ein Telefonat mit dem
