Hello, everyone! Welcome to the "Everyday
English" podcast series! I’m Emilie,
and today, I will teach you how to speak English at an
auction.

An auction is a place where different items or services are sold,
and people place bids to buy them. You can find
artwork, collectibles, houses, cars, and even celebrity
items at auctions.

If you are attending an auction for the first time, the process
might seem a bit confusing. How do you register? How do
you place a bid? Why does the auctioneer speak
so fast? Don’t worry! In this episode, I will teach you
some essential English phrases and dialogues
that you can use at an auction. Let’s get started!
