DR Meadows had just finished his final baseball game, hang up the
cleats, and no idea what would come next. Two weeks later, he got
the call that would change his life. That call came from the
Savannah Bananas.

Now known as “center fielder who backflips”, DR is a fan favorite
with one of the most viral teams in baseball.

In this episode, he shares his full story, growing up in small
town Georgia, navigating the ups and downs of baseball, and what
it felt like to go from almost walking away from the game to
becoming part of something bigger than he ever imagined.

We talk about the early days of the Savannah Bananas, how DR’s
energy and joy for the game set him apart, and why timing matters
more than talent sometimes. It’s a story about being open to the
unexpected, and how the best things in life often come after the
biggest unknowns.
