On Memorial Day in 2007, farmhand Shane Hill called 911 twice
requesting emergency response services. He told the dispatchers
that he shot at a coyote stalking his sheep and somehow his gun
misfired, striking him in the shoulder. During the second call, a
loud booming sound could be heard and Shane cried out that his gun
had somehow misfired again. By the time EMT arrived Shane was dead.
He died without ever knowing that he was a victim of the ultimate
