In this jaw-dropping episode of Proper True Yarn, Adam
Ashley-Cooper takes us on a wild ride through his shock Wallabies
debut—a story that goes from zero to hero faster than a bullet
train. While casually enjoying a beer at a South Africa vs
Wallabies match, Adam gets a life-changing call from Eddie Jones.
Within hours, he’s racing to Perth to join the squad, completely
unsure why he’s even there. From scrambling to make a last-minute
flight, rocking board shorts and a pink tee, to arriving without
a jersey, Adam’s first taste of international rugby is full of
chaos. But when the game is on the line, Adam’s moment comes in
the final minutes—putting him on the field and earning him the
prestigious Wallaby number 800. A debut no one, including his
mum, saw coming.

But that’s not all. Adam also shares a hilarious hunting story
from his time in South Africa with the Waratahs. On a
safari-style game farm, Berrick Barnes—known for his
frugality—gets stuck paying a hefty price for a hartebeest, much
to his dismay. With laughs and unforgettable moments, this
episode is a must-listen for anyone who loves a true underdog
story.

Tune in for a yarn that’s as unpredictable and legendary as
Adam’s debut!
