Welcome to a new episode of FINEANCE – your podcast for a fair

In the second part of our series on international development
finance, we’re joined by Richard Record, Acting Country Manager
for Albania and Lead Country Economist for the Western Balkans at
the World Bank.


Together with our host Markus Wane, UN Youth Delegate of Austria,
we explore the World Bank’s evolving role in a rapidly changing
global economy: from providing finance and knowledge to
facilitating reform and building international partnerships.


We explore how global partnerships, local policy reforms, and
initiatives like the new Vienna Development Hub can help
countries avoid the middle-income trap and build a more
inclusive, sustainable future. Richard also reflects on tangible
policy wins, the value of open data, and why young people should
stay curious, skeptical, and engaged.
