How Narratives Connect Neighbors

Local journalism isn't dying, it's thriving – or at least it is
where it's built on trust between the communities being served
and the journalists serving them. Four such journalists share how
the innovative, trust-based approaches they've embraced have
helped strengthen and empower their local communities in this
episode of the b° future podcast – your podcast for journalism
and constructive dialogue, brought to you by the Bonn
Institute. 


Keri Mitchell is the founder and executive director of the Dallas
Free Press, a non-profit outlet that amplifies voices in
disinvested neighborhoods and explores solutions to systemic
inequities. Derrick Cain is the director of community engagement
at Resolve Philly, which offers opportunities for journalists to
report collaboratively and more accurately to better reach and
serve communities in Philadelphia. Méline Laffabry is the founder
of aidóni, an international community that connects journalists
with individuals effecting change at the local level around the
world. And Anita Li is the founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of
the Green Line, a community-driven news outlet in Toronto that
reports on solutions, actions and resources to help the city’s
inhabitants thrive.
