Ajay Banga, the executive chairman and former CEO of Mastercard,
has spearheaded a strategy focused on serving the previously
unbanked via new technologies. During his 11-year tenure as
president and chief executive, the company tripled revenues,
increased net income six-fold, and saw its market cap rise from
below $30 billion to more than $300 billion. He attributes this
growth to setting ambitious goals, planning for the long term, and
ensuring that all employees and customers feel valued.
