Dr Kylie Moore-Gilbert is a 33yo British-Australian who until her
arrest in Iran in 2018 was a lecturer in Islamic Studies at the
University of Melbourne. She recently spoke out about her time in
Iranian prison, as well as our government’s handling of her case,
her release and the lasting effects of her 804-day detention. In
this episode of Squiz Shortcuts we explain what hostage diplomacy
is, why Moore-Gilbert found herself caught up in it, what happened
to her, and how her case was handled by the Australian government.
Squiz recommends: Kylie Moore-Gilbert Sky News interview. It’s
