Inside the Industry with Rachel Narozniak

She discusses some noteworthy festival cancelations. Here's what
she talked about:

1) Woodstock 50

Per Billboard: festival was cancelled due to concerns about the
capacity of the festival, permit issues [festival reportedly did
not obtain a mass gathering permit from the NY State Dept. of
Health, per Rolling Stone, and site readiness.

You would imagine that for the most part, these 3 areas of
concern could have been addressed before a lineup is announced.
This was an example of operational issues that was smack in the
center of the public eye given the stature of the Woodstock name.

2) Super Mega Ultra Giant MDBP Festival

Kodak Black dropped from the lineup (on June 7th). The
organizers didn’t cite the specific circumstances around why he
did.

3) Ultra 2019’s try at Key Biscayne; now back to Bayfront Park

Rachel: Media portrayal of this move: has this been great
press for Ultra in that it’s really foregrounded the festival, or
has this whole saga detracted from Ultra’s reputation for
meticulousness?

4) Electric Zoo

Her thoughts on it becoming NYC's biggest EDM festival.

Specialized News & Culture

Rachel, Samir and Alec discuss a broad array of topics.

Alec's Update on Alienstock... Is it canceled! Or is it not?!
Very confusing series of events that led to miscommunication and
false reports… here’s what happened

Originally, Matty Roberts - the creator of the viral Area 51
group - teamed up with Connie West - the owner of the Little
A'Le'Inn in Rachel - to put on the controversial Alienstock
festival

On Sept. 9th, Matty Roberts decided to break ties with Connie
West and the Alienstock festival in order to move it to a
“safe, clean, secure area in downtown Las Vegas”; he also
said “We are not interested in, nor will we tolerate any
involvement in a FYREFEST 2.0. We foresee a possible
humanitarian disaster in the works, and we can’t participate
in any capacity at this point.” Link to article

Now with a new partner - Frank DiMaggio - Matty has renamed
his festival “Area 51 Celebration” and has secured a new
lineup + sponsorship from Bud Light.

National outlets such as Vice and Buzzfeed took Matty’s
statement and new festival to mean that Alienstock was
canceled...

NOW HERE’S THE TWIST...

Connie West is STILL PUTTING on Alien Stock outside the town
of Rachel, Nevada

In fact, she already has signed agreements (verified by 13
Investigates) for over 100 portable toilets, security and
first responders. She’s also announced 20 bands and 2
comedians to the lineup.

The new website for Connie West’s Alienstock is, Alien Stock
Parking. You buy tickets there.

The original Alienstock website redirects you to Matty
Robert’s new event, Area 51 celebration. It’s free with RSVP.
