Bubba Tilley : The Drag Queen of Charleville

In Episode 5 - Part 6 of the "Proper True Yarn" podcast, Bubba
Tilley takes us on yet another wild journey through his life,
filled with hilarious and unforgettable stories.


Bubba kicks off this installment with a yarn about catching up
with mates in Queen Street Mall before their 6-week union in
America. While at Jimmy's on The Mall, a car alarm suddenly
blares, and Bubba turns to see a white Ranger with the number
plate "tilley" on it. He grabs his keys, unlocks the car, and his
mates burst into laughter at the perfectly timed prank.


Next up, Bubba shares a tale about his jockey friend Timmy Bell
and their golfing adventures. Timmy's signature move involved
lying on his back, hanging onto the golf cart while someone
surfed on him and poured a beer into his mouth.


The laughter continues with Bubba's golf escapades in Virginia,
where he used an Air Horn to startle fellow golfers and even
chased them with a stock whip, all in good fun.


But the yarns keep coming as Bubba recalls an encounter with a
punter who accused him of pulling a horse back from a win.
Despite running into the same bloke again, the accusations
persisted until Bubba turned the tables by exposing the punter's
milk bottle scandal.


Knuckles jumps in with his own story, recounting the unexpected
victory of a 26-to-1 horse race winner and a memorable tip from
the trainer. The punchline to this tale is a twist you won't see
coming.


The episode concludes with a sidesplitting yarn about Bubba
having a few drinks at the Coroni's pub, where he encounters the
publican's daughter claiming to be the Queen of Charleville. The
story unfolds hilariously, leading to Bubba's incredible racing
success the next day.
