Why didn’t Russia fight according to its own doctrinal thinking
and training when invading Ukraine?

In this episode Michael Kofman, director of the
Russia Studies Program at CNA, joins Lt. Col. Simo
Pesu and senior researcher Pentti
Forsström from the Finnish National Defence University’s
Russia Research Group to discuss about Russia’s journey to war
and fighting in the invasion of Ukraine.

They debate on the consequences of Russian military culture,
doctrines and force structures and also touch on Russia’s
training to the fighting and adapting for the war.
