Many job applicants dread the use of applicant tracking systems (ATS) by employers in general and the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) for preliminary decision-making in particular.

In my opinion, those concerns are often justified. In this podcast episode, I explain the fundamental problem of the use of AI in recruiting and give you 6 tips for getting your job applications AI-ready.

Many international job seekers unfortunately limit their search to the use of well-known job portals such as Indeed and plain job listings on social networks for professionals like LinkedIn.

While there is nothing wrong with using such tools as part of your overall activities, there are 3 good reasons why they shouldn't become the main focus of your search.

In this podcast episode, I explain those 3 reasons and how to adjust the approach to your job search accordingly.

Unfortunately, many managers and specialists present their soft skills in their job application documents and in job interviews in the same way they mention their technical skills. That quickly sounds awkward and is not convincing at all!

While you may sometimes struggle in the position of a job seeker, having to hire someone poses its challenges as well. Becoming good at it requires practice, but most managers only need to hire new members for their teams once in a while and therefore never develop the necessary skills properly. A shortcoming that makes your life as an applicant even harder.

In this podcast episode, I explain why you should always distrust the published job descriptions you come across as they are often a result of poor hiring skills and can therefore be very misleading.

A change of industry can sometimes be the perfect solution to get you out of trouble. However, you may face a challenge in such a situation.

When applying for a job, you would normally use the experience gained in your previous positions within your industry as the main argument to convince the hiring managers that you are the perfect match.

However, when applying for a job in a different field, that experience presented in the same way is likely to have no convincing power anymore. So, a different approach is needed in this case.

The solution to achieve that may not be found intuitively. However, it may be easier than you think, which I explain in this podcast episode.
