"Active moms are going to have more active infants!" Pregnancy is
an imprinting experience for the moms, infants and families.
Since every action may influence the fetus' health, knowledge
about how to act during pregnancy is crucial. But also for
minimising the risk for complications during and after pregnancy,
exercise plays a critical role. - What exercises are recommended?
- What are contraindications? - What about high-intensity
training? AND - How can you individualise training? These are
just a few questions that I asked my guest Stephanie Paplinskie.
Steph is about to finish her PhD about "The impact of exercise in
the postpartum period" at the University of Western, Canada. But
she is so much more than a PhD candidate. Starting as an Aquafit
instructor, she started her own buisness to "enpower women to
live the most active/healthy pregnancies they can." Steph is an
expert in the field, is doing workouts herself every day, teaches
at several universities and is about to start her own podcast.
She's simply unstoppable! This episode is dedicated to everyone:
moms, dads, coaches, scientists and more! Steph told me so many
details about pregnancy that are relevant for the general
population. A perfect example for applied science translation!
