#22: Preserving the Visual Heritage of Historical Gottschee

The IKGS photo archives contains several hundred historical
photographs and negatives from the Gottschee/Kočevsko region in the
Republic of Slovenia, where a numerically significant German
population had lived until 1941. Between September and December
2023, this collection was evaluated and prepared for digitization
as part of a project funded by the Bavarian State Ministry for
Family, Labor and Social Affairs. Angela Ilić talks to Dr. Anja
Moric (Ljubljana), associated scholar of the IKGS in 2024, who
worked on the project and who has been conducting research on
Gottschee for twenty years. Project website:
