Welcome to the latest episode of our podcast, where we explore the
incredible journey of Homand, a 29-year-old tattoo artist
originally from Syria. Homand arrived in Germany ten years ago,
fleeing the war in his homeland and seeking a place where he could
pursue his passion for art. Today, he lives in Sweden and runs his
own small tattoo studio, where he creates stunning works of art on
his clients' skin. Homand's journey into the world of tattooing
began when he was just 15 years old, and he has been honing his
skills ever since. At the start of his career, he even made his own
needles, demonstrating his dedication to his craft. He fled Syria
due to the lack of opportunities for artists there and initially
worked as a hairdresser and hotel manager in Iraq before moving on
to Turkey and then Bulgaria, where he spent five days in prison as
a refugee. However, it was in Bulgaria that Homand began to take
tattooing seriously, finding friends and mentors who helped him
develop his skills. He eventually settled in Denmark, where his
career as a tattoo artist took off in earnest. Throughout his
journey, Homand has faced numerous challenges, from fleeing his
homeland to navigating the difficult bureaucratic processes of
relocating as a refugee. However, he has never given up on his
dream of pursuing art, and his incredible talent as a tattoo artist
is a testament to his dedication and hard work. Join us as we
explore Homand's story and learn about the artistry and resilience
that have made him such a remarkable figure in the world of
tattooing.
