Europe and the EU are by far the most important markets for many
industries and their businesses. For 30 years, the EU Single Market
has ensured the free movement of goods and brought people together.
That is why it is of great importance how it will develop in the
face of increasing geopolitical tensions. It is by no means certain
that its 30-year success story will simply continue - reforms are
urgently needed. Georg Riekeles, Associate Director of the European
