In 2014, Bogomir Doringer began to film club dance floors from a
bird’s-eye perspective. Since then he has made an intense study
of the club as a social biotope and dance as a deeply-rooted
human instinct.

The Conversation Piece took place in context of the MAK
exhibition The Fest. Between Representation and Revolt
(14.12.2022—7.5.2023).

The Podcast MAK Conversation Pieces
The MAK Podcast for Education and Outreach

We need to talk! In the Podcast MAK Conversation Pieces Janina
Falkner, Laura and Nargol Gharahshir of the Museum of Applied
Arts Vienna speak with artists, activists, scientists, and
personalities from various fields about select objects from the
MAK Collection.

MAK Conversation Pieces is dedicated to themes like diversity,
feminism, participation or loneliness, symbiotic bodies, racism
in collections, planet care, and much more. We use the MAK as a
polyphonic place for the exchange of ideas and to engage in
various sociopolitical discourses and problems that enable new
perspectives on an extraordinary collection. Conversation Pieces
can be understood as an impetus to make widespread pictorial
worlds and narratives visible and to critically question them by
talking about them together.

The MAK – Museum of Applied Arts Vienna
The MAK – Museum of Applied Arts (Vienna) stands for the fruitful
combination of the past with the future, something which can be
clearly sensed and experienced when visiting its extensive
collection, large exhibition halls, themed special exhibitions
and discourse-centered program of events. Bringing together
applied arts, design, architecture, and contemporary art is one
of the museum’s core competencies.
