Hello and thanks for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast with Trent Barr, Rick Knoop, and Jeff Oldham. Trent Barr is a racing fan who is really into endurance sports car racing nostalgia. He was just a wee lad of 4 years old when his amazing Dad took him to see his first race at Sears Point International Raceway in Sonoma California all the way back in 1979. It was the first time he saw one of his co-hosts Rick Knoop drive a IMSA Camel GTU racing Mazda RX7 at the 1979 Sprite Grand Prix at Sears Point. Since that day in 1979, he was fortunate to be able to witness Rick Knoop drive the Jim Busby Racing BFGoodrich Porsche 962 at the original Laguna Seca as it existed in 1985. Rick Knoop went on to have victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1978 and in 1984. Ever since 2014 when Trent started his website called The Racing Ear he has gone to historic racing events in Northern California to record amazing racing cars as they were in their day for all to visibly and audibly enjoy. Trent has also really enjoyed getting to know the amazing people that make up historic sports car racing as it exists in the present day. Jeff Oldham is another co-host who has become a fast friend who grew up attending the World Famous Indianapolis 500 in Indianapolis Indiana in the 1970's and 1980's. Jeff and Rick met at The Pabst Blue Ribbon 500 at Road America all the way back in 1979, which is the same year that Trent attended his first IMSA Camel GT racing event at Sears Point. Jeff took his fascination with auto racing to the next level by becoming an auto racing fabricator. He became an integral part of the amazing Pratt and Miller Compuware Chevrolet Corvette Factory Racing Team that has had numerous victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Thank you for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast with Trent Barr, Rick Knoop, and Jeff Oldham.
