The Influencer Law Clinic at Maastricht University looks at the most pervasive social media trend in the past years: content monetization. Making money on social media has led to the rise of a new type of user - the influencer. Influencers are hip, entertaining, smart, stupid, controversial, helpful… Whatever they are, many of their actions give rise to interesting legal and ethical questions. In this academic podcast, a group of highly motivated students and interdisciplinary scholars from various cultural backgrounds explore the world of influencer law and provide sharp legal analyses and interesting reports on current topics in the sphere of social media.
