Prolific trumpeter Steve Madaio had a profound influence on popular
music. From his early days, performing with the Butterfield Blues
Band on-stage at Woodstock, to decades of recording and touring
with Stevie Wonder, The Rolling Stones, John Lennon and virtually
hundreds of other multiple-platinum artists, Steve's signature
trumpet sound and iconic arrangements left an indelible mark on
music as we know it today. His autobiography penned with Tad Sisler
entitled "Reflections in the Key of Life" begins in the drug-fueled
counterculture of the 1960's, chronicling his incredible journey
through legendary tours and recording sessions with the best of the
best. it is an intimate portrait from the inside packed with great
moments and valuable life lessons.Steve Madaio was called the
"Forrest Gump" of his time, always happening to be at the apex of
the music business, right in the heart of the action throughout his
fifty-year career. This podcast series was conceived and created by
Steve Madaio, Tad Sisler and legendary broadcaster Jimi (Fitz)
Fitzgerald, to give life to the book and audiobook and to reveal
even more fantastic stories. Only 5 episodes into the podcast,
Steve suddenly died of a heart attack. Through their grief, Fitz
and Tad decided to go ahead and release the podcasts in a series,
and to complete the series with interviews and stories from many of
the legends and friends Steve recorded and performed with, through
the years. As Fitz says, "With so many credits to his career, the
question isn't about who Steve worked with, it's about who DIDN'T
he work with!" This is an amazing journey through an extraordinary
life that will captivate you and leave you wanting more.
