BIO : Volar is a new Amsterdam based musical collaboration between
Hans Léautaud and Patrick Linthorst. Their paths crossed on a
seemingly musical infertile soil after moving to Amsterdam to
pursue their careers at an internet agency where they worked as
software engineer and business analyst. At that time Hans had been
active in the Dutch hip hop scene for several years during which he
performed on many renowned stages throughout the Netherlands and
released several EPs. Patrick's interest for music began on a young
age while collecting records of Gabber music. His musicality
evolved into playing bass in an alternative rock band in his
student city Groningen. Despite Patrick and Hans' widely different
musical backgrounds, they managed to combine forces because of
their indomitable love for underground music and by complementing
each other’s talents. They distil inspiration by submersing
themselves in the Amsterdam club scene, in a never-ending pursuit
of new sounds and artists. Drawing their inspiration from this
passion and diversity results into melodic and lush sets by
combining house, techno and nu disco. The duo doesn’t believe in
labels though and therefore do not shy away from playing other
styles too when the moment is right. Volar is eager to share their
passion and play clubs and festivals throughout; these experienced
musicians are well capable of mesmerising the crowds with their
meditative and dulcet soundscapes.
