023: "What's the magic in magic mushrooms?" a trip report with Zara E.

Today you will meet Zara and her Journey, which last year brought
her to one of the most moving and educational experiences of her
life. Zara is a 43 year old freelance artist and single mother
living in South East London with her son.


Besides her first bad trip experience on LSD, during the Burning
Man Festival, she first shares with us further insights into her
travels with San Pedro and also DMT.


The real reason for our interview, however, is the relationship
Zara has had with the father of her child since her unwanted
pregnancy, characterised by anger, accusations and a lot of
unkindness that has had a lasting negative impact on her state of
mind. She ardently desired a change in this relationship and
became aware of the therapeutic potential of psychedelics through
various synchronicities and decided to consume a high dose of
psilocybin after a long period of self-research.


According to ethnobotanist Terence McKenna, the notion of a "hero
dose", is often equated with five or more grams of mushrooms,
which he says "is enough to tame even the most unruly ego."


Why her relationship with her ex-partner has been completely
different since trip and what happened to her cannabis addiction,
which she had developed since the death of her father when she
was 23, you'll hear in the interview.
