Biorhythm ist ein in London lebender Sounddesigner und Produzent. Neue Tunes von ihm erscheinen in Kürze auf Coral Recordings. Biorhythm beschäftigt sich auch mit Filmvertonung und konzeptueller Klangkunst, Arbeiten von ihm wurden auf Resonance FM gesendet und in der Ausstellung ‘Artefacts and Affects' gezeigt. Im Mix für Trust In Bass spielt er eigene Tunes, die in den darken Sounds der 90er wurzeln – umgeformt ins Sounddesign des 21. Jahrhunderts.

Biorhythm is a sound artist and producer living in London. He has new tracks forthcoming on Coral Recordings. More recently he has developed his work to include sound for film and conceptual sound art with works broadcast on Resonance FM and included in the exhibition ‘Artefacts and Affects'. In this mix for Trust In Bass, he plays many of his own tunes showing deep roots in the dark sounds of the 90's, revamped into a 21st century sound design.

Trust In Bass Podcast 23 - Guy Andrews

Guy Andrews hat einen langen Weg hinter sich, seit er als “Iambic” anfing Ambient und Electronic Jazz zu produzieren. Unter seinem amtlichen Namen hat er zwei Stücke auf Untold's Label Hemlock veröffentlicht, die eine Brücke zwischen Afrobeat und basslastigem Techno schlagen. Im Podcast für Trust In Bass mischt er experimentellen Dubstep mit straightem Techno und gibt damit dem Revival von Flächen und Raum in der Bass Music neuen Auftrieb.

Guy Andrews has come a long way since making ambient music and electronic jazz as “Iambic”. Under his real name, he has joined Untold's label Hemlock with two tunes that bridge the gap between Afrobeat and bass influenced Techno. For Trust In Bass, he has gone down a route from experimental and minimal Dubstep into straight Techno, adding to the revival of space and textures in bass music.

Trust In Bass Podcast 22 - BrokenDrum

BrokenDrum sind ein vielversprechender junger Act in der Liquid-Szene, mit über zehn Releases auf Liquid Brilliants, Urban Chemistry und Extent Recordings. Die drei Jungs aus London schrauben seit sechs Jahren an Drum and Bass-Tunes, mit einer Vorliebe für Sounds aus Rare Groove, Jazz, Funk und Soul. Für Trust In Bass haben sie einen Mix aus eigenen Stücken und unveröffentlichten Dubs ihres Labels, LDNBmusic, aufgenommen.

BrokenDrum have burst onto the liquid scene with over 10 releases on labels such as Liquid Brilliants, Urban Chemistry and Extent Recordings. This London based crew have been making drum and bass together for around 6 years, specialising in tunes that deliver the sounds of rare groove, jazz, funk and soul. For Trust In Bass, they have created a mix featuring dubs from their own label, LDNBmusic, as well as many of their own tunes.

Dieser Mix ist 2001 entstanden und enthält einige Tunes aus den 90ern, die in meiner Setliste ganz oben standen: Allen voran Northstar von den Hanauern Precision Breakbeat Research. Die zweite Hälfte lässt es entspannter angehen mit Tunes der Good Looking/Looking Good-Plattenschmiede von LTJ Bukem. —Clearcut

This mix was recorded in 2001, and it features tunes from the 90's that I used to rinse regularly: Northstar from Germany's Precision Breakbeat Research ranks on top of them all. The second half of the mix takes the tempo down a notch with atmospheric tunes from LTJ Bukem's Good Looking/Looking Good stable. —Clearcut

Deep, dark and moody – that is the Triad trademark sound. Hailing from Hannover, Cologne and Sweden, they have contributed to the recent reinvention of Drum and Bass, going for a more complex and experimental approach to the genre. Since they live apart, the three members Henree, Bass Tikal and LF Flow produce their tunes online. For Trust In Bass, Triad have recorded a mix that brings out the contrast of light and dark in Drum and Bass.

Gyu ist ein Produzent und DJ aus Bristol, der in Moskau lebt. Er hat zusammen mit seiner Breaks/Techno-Crew Mad-Tek Platten auf Digital Distortions, Subgrade und Urban Scrumping veröffentlicht. Sein Podcast für Trust In Bass ist ein ultradeeper Mix aus Breaks, Dubstep und 2step – alles von ihm selbst produziert, davon sehr viele Stücke noch frisch und unveröffentlicht!

Gyu is a producer and DJ from Bristol, UK, living in Moscow. He was a part of breaks/techno outfit Mad-Tek and has had releases on Digital Distortions, Subgrade and Urban Scrumping. Mit Tunes, die zwischen harmonischen Atmosphären und darken Beats pendeln, bringt der Österreicher Wreckage Machinery neues Leben in die Neurofunk-Szene. With tunes that range between harmonic atmospheres and dark beats, Austrian producer Wreckage Machinery brings new elements into the neurofunk scene. He has teamed up with Xilent to present the Neurosphere show, a podcast dedicated solely to said genre. For Trust In Bass, he has selected new dubs and takes a small detour into Dubstep territory.

Dubstep ist in der deutschen Szene angekommen. Davon zeugen neue Labels, die sich ausschließlich auf Beats um die 140 bpm konzentrieren. Rusher, seines Zeichens Drum and Bass Produzent, hat das Digital Sanctuary Label ins Leben gerufen und dafür unter anderem Matta und Dubtek verpflichtet. Eine der ersten EPs kommt vom Bremer Produzententrio Ideal Standard, die im Mix für Trust In Bass einen Vorgeschmack auf ihre Releases auf Digital Sanctuary und Gamma Audio geben.

In Germany, Dubstep is becoming increasingly popular. Labels are being founded that are completely dedicated to tunes at 140 bpm. Rusher, a veteran Drum and Bass producer, recently completed deals with Matta and Dubtek for his new stable Digital Sanctuary. One of the first EPs comes from German producers Ideal Standard, who shed some light on their forthcoming tunes on Digital Sanctuary and Gamma Audio in their mix for Trust In Bass.

Trust In Bass Podcast 15 - DJ Ferro & MC Def

DJ Ferro und MC Def (beide aus dem Norden Italiens) sind ein weiterer Beweis dafür, dass Drum and Bass keine Grenzen kennt. Ihr Crewname Underground Area ist nicht übertrieben, er ist eine Ansage. Ferro lässt mit seinem Drei-Turntables-Set niemanden zur Ruhe kommen – und wenn, dann nur mit wobbeligen Drumstep-Breaks. MC Def, nebenbei Cartoonist und Dubstep-Produzent, bringt den Mix mit seinen sardinischen Slang-Sextolen zum Siedepunkt.

DJ Ferro and MC Def (both from Northern Italy) are further proof for the worldwide success story of Drum and Bass. Their crewname Underground Area isn't over the top, it's a clearcut message. With his three-deck-set, Ferro doesn't let you breathe – except maybe for a short Drumstep break. To top it off, MC Def, a grim cartoonist and Dubstep producer, drops his Sardinian slang rhymes on the beat with insane sextuplets.

Viele kennen den belgischen DJ BunZer0 von seiner Show auf SUB FM, in der er und seine Gäste mit Bass Music aus allen Richtungen experimentieren. Er ist aber auch ein talentierter Produzent. Seit über 15 Jahren arbeitet Ly.da Buddah als Diplombotschafter für tiefe Basslinien. Mit viel Humor versorgt er die deutschen Tanzflächen mit neuer Musik und kümmert sich als Herausgeber des Headliner Magazins um stetigen Informationsfluss in Sachen urbane Bassmusik und Kunst. Obendrein überwacht der Präsident der Drum and Bass Bundesliga die Qualität und Trinkfestigkeit der deutschen DnB-Bundesliga-Vereine. In seinem Set für den Trust In Bass Podcast gibt er einen Einblick in neue, deepe Drum and Bass-Tunes.

With over 15 years on the decks, Ly.da Buddah's business card could easily read “German ambassador for basslines”. Paired with the right amount of humour and enthusiasm, he both feeds the dancefloor new music and supports the readership of Germany's only Drum and Bass magazine Headliner with news on bass music and culture. On top of it, he leads the “Drum and Bass Bundesliga”, an allusion to the German soccer league and a roster of German teams, dedicated to djing Drum and Bass – and drinking. Trust In Bass Podcast 11 - Duskky

Duskky hat sich dem Auseinanderschrauben komplexer Junglebreaks verschrieben, die er durch tiefe Subbässe und wispernde Atmos anreichert. Als Mitglied des Mothers Against Noise-Kollektivs hat er eine stilistische Entwicklung von geraden Dubstep-Beats hin zu den gebrochenen Dubfunk- und Jungle-Breaks hinter sich. In dieser Episode spielt er einige seiner eigenen Releases auf Acroplane.org und Twenty/Twelve, ebenso wie unveröffentlichte Dubs von sich, dem Mothers-Kollegen Hurtdeer und seinem Bruder Second Line.

Duskky specialises in engaging drum workout flavoured with deep subs and eerie atmospheres. As member of the Mothers Against Noise collective, he has undergone a stylistic mutation from virtually straight Dubstep to broken Dubfunk and Jungle beats. This mix sees him dig out some of his own releases on Acroplane.org and Twenty/Twelve, combined with dubs of forthcoming tracks, both from him, Mothers fellow Hurtdeer and his brother Second Line.

Der aus Barcelona stammende Producer Volatil ist ein Dubstep-Style-Hybride. Ein Bewunderer des frühen jamaikanischen Dub, ein Bassline-Liebhaber, der all das mit einer Prise Techno abmischt. Bisher hat er Platten auf DubKraft Records und Biggerdubz veröffentlicht, in Kürze erscheint eine neue EP auf Corsario. In dieser Episode spielt er neue, unveröffentlichte Tracks von ihm sowie von einigen befreundeten Produzenten.

Based in the growing Barcelona scene, Volatil is a permanent hybrid of Dubstep styles. A follower of the early Jamaican dub, a bass line lover, all that mixed with a techno flavour. He has releases out on DubKraft Records, Biggerdubz and a forthcoming EP on Corsario. This episode shows some of his unreleased and forthcoming material, as well as some tunes of friends producers.

Nogata ist in deutschen Clubs (Residencies in Wuppertal, Siegen und Bocholt) bekannt für bedrohliche, minimalistische Neurofunk-Sets, ohne in harten Jump Up-Sound abzugleiten. Für Trust In Bass hat sie eine deepe, vorwärts treibende Klanglandschaft geformt.

Nogata is well known around German clubs for playing brooding, driving Neurofunk sets without descending into harsher Jump Up territories. In our third episode, she's created a soundscape that'll get you into a deeper state of mind.
